“What’s Holding You Back?” The Strong & Resilient Program

What is holding you back from your best self?

Do you find yourself hesitating before a hike, skipping a workout because of a nagging ache, or worrying that you’re simply "aging into" limitations? You don’t have to accept a slower pace as your new normal.

The Strong & Resilient Program is designed for active adults who want to stop reacting to pain and start building a body they can rely on for decades. This isn't about "fixing" an injury; it’s about optimizing your movement so you can live without hesitation.

Moving Beyond Maintenance

Many people spend years in a cycle of "rest and repeat" - waiting for an ache to go away, only for it to return the moment they get active again. Resilience is about breaking that cycle! We focus on building a surplus of strength so that your daily life no longer feels like it's testing your capacity and you can safely trust your body again.

I worked with a client who had chronic back pain after a prior injury. The injury itself happened 2 years earlier and, on paper, everything had "healed.” However, in reality, he was still getting flare-ups of pain with everyday movements! Over time, something else had become just as limiting as the pain itself: fear.

Fear of bending wrong.

Fear of tweaking his back again.

Fear of making things worse and moving backwards.

That's something I see often - not just with back pain, but in many lingering movement issues. Even after the body has technically healed, it tends to stay in a protective pattern. Certain movements start to feel unsafe, so the body adapts by restricting motion and avoiding positions that used to feel normal.

We started rebuilding trust in movement. During his initial phase of training, we dialed in on:

  • Hip strength and mobility
  • Core strength
  • Gradually reintroducing movements that had been sensitive (like bending forward)

Within a few weeks, he noticed a shift - not just in pain levels, but in how he moved day to day. He felt looser, more confident, and had fewer and less-severe flare-ups. From there, we progressed into dynamic work: rotational movements, single-leg balance, and golf-specific drills. A few weeks later, he went to the driving range and hit a full bucket of balls without pain. Not only that - he returned to the golf course with more confidence in his body than he'd had in years.

What changed wasn't just strength or mobility. It was rebuilding confidence in what his body could handle! True health is having the physical freedom to say 'yes' to adventures without second-guessing your body.
